After the murder of George Floyd, Bella Hadid has been using her platform to help spread information, and to encourage activism via donations, self-education and demanding justice. She recently posted a photo on Instagram Stories of herself wearing a t-shirt from Ghetto Gastro, a Bronx-based culinary collective. Together, they are dismantling the stereotype of black cooking in America, and describe their style of food as “Black Power Kitchen”, which summarises how they combine culinary pursuits with art and activism. Their t-shirts were not only created to broadcast strong messages, but also with the intent of giving back to charity. Unfortunately the exact tee that Bella wore is sold out now.
